Brennan's of Houston Presents NOLA-Style Mardi Gras Celebration and Intimate Valentine's Day Prix Fixe
Chef Danny Trace’s Mardi Gras specials include Mardi Foie Gras and Mambo King Cake, while the Valentine’s Day menu features indulgent dishes such as Crawfish Stuffed Flounder and “His and Hers” cocktails
WHAT: In honor of Mardi Gras (Tuesday, February 9, 2016) and Valentine’s Day (Sunday, February 14, 2016), the city’s iconic restaurant, Brennan’s of Houston, presents celebratory three-course prix-fixe menus, including a starter, entrée, and dessert from Executive Chef Danny Trace. With New Orleans influence (a sister restaurant to Commander’s Palace), and an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere, Brennan’s of Houston is the ideal spot to celebrate either (or both!) holidays this February.
Mardi Gras ($65*) Tuesday, February 9
Brennan’s of Houston’s Texas-style Mardi Gras soirée pays homage to New Orleans with a faux float, bead tossers, palm reader, and jovial decorations. Menu highlights include:

Louisiana Crawfish Enchilada
Walker's fire roasted tomatillo salsa, Pepper Jack cheese, and mirliton pico de gallo
Mardi Foie Gras
Cast iron seared foie gras over foie mousse-stuffed pain perdu, Bayou rum flambeed strawberries and cayenne glazed pecans
Entrees:
Wood Grilled American Red Snapper
Crispy Louisiana oysters, toasted pecan rice, charred peppers, and citrus Meuniere sauce
Niman Ranch Tomahawk Pork Chop
Niman Ranch pork, roasted apple and celeriac puree, pickled southern vegetables, and fig Habanero glaze
Dessert:
Vieux Carre Beignets
Beaucoup powdered sugar and Cafe Au Lait ice cream
Carnival Flambeaux Cake
Borracho ice creams wrapped in boozy cake, flamed with Chicory coffee liqueur
Mardi Gras Mambo King Cake
Creole cream cheese filling, Imperial sugars, and tropical rum-glazed Hawaiian pineapple

Watermelon radish, ripped petite herbs, and sauce Acadian
Creole Mustard Crusted Lamb Chops
Brussels sprouts and root vegetable hash, Lupe's lamb bacon, and mint julep lamb sauce
Pecan Crusted Speckled Trout
French beans, Creole-spiced pecans, crushed corn maque choux, and citrus Meuniere sauce
Dessert:
White Chocolate Bread Pudding
White chocolate ganache and dark chocolate shavings
Froberg Farm Strawberry Shortcake
Local berries in daiquiri sauce with buttermilk shortbread, Chantilly cream, and powdered sugar
Bar Chef Richard Middleton will also craft "his and hers" cocktail for the occasion called The Privilege of Love ($24* for both cocktails):

Hennessy Privilege V.S.O.P. Cognac, Grand Marnier raspberry peach liqueur, and Brut champagne, served in a flute with raspberries
Old Fashioned Love (for him)
Hennessy Privilege V.S.O.P. cognac, muddled orange and ginger marmalade, splash of club soda, and Regan's #6 Orange Bitters, served on the rocks with a mint sprig
