Brennan’s of Houston’s Date Night Cooking Classes ($150*) Return This Summer

This year, Executive Chef Danny Trace explores his culinary roots in a series of cooking demos and three-course dinners titled, “Where I’m From

WHAT:          

Heating up your summer plans (May 22 – September 18, 2015), Brennan’s of Houston’s beloved Date Night Cooking Classes ($150* per couple) return for a new iteration titled, “Where I’m From,” inspired by Executive Chef Danny Trace’s culinary travels across New Orleans to Destin, Florida and now Houston. Each event includes reception hors d'oeuvres followed by a three-course cooking demonstration and dinner with wine or cocktail pairings from Wine Guys John Ramos and Jason Sherman and Bar Chef Richard Middleton.

The theme of the first class on Friday, May 22 is “On the Bayou,” centered on the Creole elements that Chef Trace brings to Brennan’s of Houston’s dynamic menu. He has been an integral part of the Brennan family of restaurants for the entirety of his career, including roles at sister restaurants Commander’s Palace and Café Adelaide in New Orleans.

The series’ inaugural “On the Bayou” three-course prix fixe dinner menu ($150* per copule) includes:

• Atchafalaya Crawfish Bisque – stuffed mudbug head with a splash of cognac
• Crispy Louisiana Softshell Crab – blue crab & corn maque choux, Oak Hollow sunflower sprouts, and charred chili ravigote
• Tarte à la Bouillie – NOLA Rum glazed strawberries, Creole cream cheese whip, and Bayou honey spiced pecans
